Scarlett O'Connor
Scarlett is currently in her second year at Laine Theatre Arts, working towards a degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.
Prior to Laine, Scarlett trained in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Musical Theatre at her home dance school, Shine Theatre Arts, alongside Northern Ballet and Stagebox Associates. At Shine, she completed her IDTA qualifications up to Advanced 2 Ballet, Modern, and Intermediate Tap, as well as taking part in numerous performance opportunities at shows, festivals, and competitions.
Some of Scarlett’s achievements include being crowned Miss Dance of Great Britain 2022 after competing at the Grand Final at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool. She has also represented Team England at the Dance World Cup (2021, 2022, and 2023) in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Musical Theatre—earning multiple medals and three World Championship titles.
In 2023, Scarlett was nominated for the prestigious Carl Alan Theatre Young Performer Award. In 2024, she was delighted to become a CYD Dance Star, allowing her to train alongside some of the UK’s most talented dancers and perform at CYD’s incredible conventions.
Scarlett’s recent performance credits include dancing at the Royal Albert Hall for Sandi Claus is Coming to Town – Christmas Concert (2024), performing for Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman in Kerry Ellis Does Christmas at the Leatherhead Theatre (2024), performing with Laine Theatre Arts at the CYD Super Convention (2024 and 2025), performing on the Move It Main Stage with Josie Lee Choreography (2025), and she will soon be appearing in Robin Hood at Manchester Palace Opera House this Christmas.
Scarlett has an immense passion for the performing arts and loves sharing that joy with others through teaching. She began teaching at Shine Theatre Arts, where she taught Acro and Musical Theatre, as well as choreographing and providing private coaching for competitions and shows — something she continues to do whenever she is back up North. Scarlett is thrilled to be teaching at Siegeris and is over the moon to have the opportunity to share the joy of dance, giving all students a space to learn, express themselves, and be creative.
